A fantastic Scottish mahogany longcase clock in excellent condition and full working order, having been recently serviced. The hood is a classic arch‑top design, flanked by turned columns and crowned with three brass finials, including a bold central eagle.

The painted dial has crisp Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, and the signature D. Straiton, Montrose. The spandrels are decorated with soft floral motifs, while the arch features a charming scene of a river, bridge, trees, and a distant castle. The hands are beautifully pierced brass, retaining their original delicate form.

The case is crafted in richly grained mahogany, with a shaped trunk door and its original key, opening to reveal the original hand‑painted pendulum. The base is solid and neatly moulded, grounding the clock with a confident, architectural stance.

A characterful and well‑preserved example, full of warmth, artistry, and the quiet dignity of its age — a true statement piece for any interior.
