A superb Victorian oak aneroid barometer by W. Watson & Sons, presented in excellent antique condition. This light oak barometer features an elegant banjo-shaped frame adorned with finely carved detailing. It houses a circular white dial with a brass bezel and bevelled glass, exuding refined period craftsmanship. Above the dial sits a thermometer held by two metal clips, with a clearly marked white scale showing both Fahrenheit and Centigrade, set within a glazed oak case for added protection and style. As with all antique pieces, there are some minor imperfections that reflect its age and character, though none detract from the striking overall aesthetic of this decorative item. A distinctive wall piece with true charm—and honestly, it couldn’t forecast the weather any worse than today’s reporters.
