Outstanding Victorian pop up piano top davenport made from solid walnut with stunning burr walnut veneers. It's pop up top interior is made of satin wood and compartmentalized to accommodate paper and envelopes. The piano shaped top lifts to reveal an interior consisting of the original green leather adjustable angled writing surface, 2 small satin wood drawers which conceal a hidden release mechanism for the pop up top, an ebonised pen tray and compartment for two ink pot. To the right there are a bank of four dovetailed graduated drawers, to the left matching dummy drawers all with original turned handles. Panelled and veneered to the back means it can be free standing in the room. In excellent condition with wonderful colouring and amazing patination ready to be put straight into home / office.
