A handsome Victorian oak wall barometer, richly carved and in excellent antique condition. The case is crafted in solid oak with decorative turned columns, a shaped pediment, and finely worked detailing that reflects the quality of late‑19th‑century craftsmanship.

The upper section houses a mercury thermometer, displayed on an engraved scale showing both Fahrenheit and Celsius. Below sits the circular aneroid barometer, framed by a moulded oak bezel. The dial is clean and crisp, marked with traditional weather indications — Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, and Very Dry — with both black and red calibration for clarity.

The oak has developed a warm, even colour, enhancing the depth of the carving and giving the piece real presence on the wall. A classic and decorative example of Victorian domestic instruments, combining practicality with elegant design.
