One of the lower short drawers conceals a beautifully fitted secretaire interior, thoughtfully designed with an arrangement of pigeonholes, stationery compartments and a pull-out writing surface lined in its original green baize. This charming feature transforms the chest into a highly functional writing desk while maintaining its elegant appearance.

Crafted from finely selected mahogany, the drawer fronts are enhanced with striking rosewood crossbanding, creating a pleasing contrast and beautifully framing each drawer. The chest retains its original turned mahogany knob handles, while the drawers run smoothly throughout. Raised on a substantial plinth base, the piece possesses both elegance and presence.
