A handsome pair of Victorian oak armchairs, presented in excellent antique condition and displaying fine quality craftsmanship throughout. The shaped arms terminate in elegant scrolls and are supported by turned uprights, while the seats are raised above beautifully carved friezes featuring bold scrolling foliate decoration.
The solid oak frames possess a lovely warm colour and patina, complemented by carved paw feet to the front and shaped stretchers beneath. The chairs are upholstered in an attractive patterned fabric with classical motifs, providing a striking contrast to the rich tones of the oak.
Generously proportioned and comfortable, these armchairs would make superb hall, library or fireside chairs, combining Victorian elegance with practical everyday use.
