Chinese Altar/ Console Table SAI3798

£950.00

Superb Chinese altar/ console table of understated elegance, likely dating to the late Qing or early Republic period. Crafted from richly toned hardwood—possibly elm—it features a long, narrow top with clean lines . The apron is adorned with a pierced cloud motif, hallmarks of traditional Chinese design. The legs are square-sectioned and subtly chamfered, terminating in hoof-like feet, while pierced spandrels provide both structural support and decorative charm. With its balanced proportions and refined detailing, this table would make a striking addition beneath a mirror or artwork, or serve beautifully as a hallway console or display table. In excellent condition with only light marks commensurate with age.
