Opening on brass hinges, the lid reveals a handy book slide—perfect for keeping papers and documents in place. The interior is well-appointed, with compartments for ink bottles and pens, a decorative carved upright, and the original black leather writing surface still intact. Both sides of the slope open via original ribbon pulls, providing additional storage.
