A well-proportioned Victorian mahogany cellarette, attributed to Gillows in excellent condition. Crafted from striking flame mahogany veneers, the lockable top lifts to reveal a lead-lined, compartmentalised interior designed to hold up to eight bottles. Raised on elegant reeded and tapering legs terminating in the original brass castors, the piece reflects both style and functionality. Of deliberately low proportions, it was designed for discreet placement beneath a sideboard, keeping fine wines close at hand in the dining room. Minor marks and scuffs consistent with age and use only enhance its charm and authenticity. A beautifully made and practical piece, showcasing the refined craftsmanship of the Victorian period.
