A 19th‑century fire‑resisting safe, finished in deep black with brass fittings. The front carries a brass plaque for James Bruce, Agent, 36 West Nile Street, Glasgow, and below it a circular brass escutcheon stating Wrought Iron Fire Resisting Safe, emphasising the quality and purpose of its construction.

Inside, the safe is clean and practical, with a main compartment and a lower lockable drawer retaining its original brass pull — ideal for documents or valuables. The safe has its working key for the main door; the drawer key is, unfortunately, missing.
