This fantastic walnut davenport from the fabulous Victorian era is in excellent condition and comes complete with a key. The top features a raised compartment for storing pens and other essentials. The sloped writing surface has a leather insert and lifts to reveal a satinwood interior with three small drawers. At the front, two beautifully carved supports stand on a plinth base with round feet and white castors. The sides boast four working drawers and four dummy drawers, all with original turned walnut bun handles. As with all antiques, there are some imperfections, but nothing can diminish the quality of this outstanding item. This piece is a wonderful example of Victorian history, with amazing graining and patina. It is not only stunning to look at but also very usable, making it the perfect addition to any study or office.
