A magnificent Victorian mahogany longcase clock in excellent antique condition. The eight-day movement is set within an impressive hood, crowned by a carved swan neck pediment that lends a sense of architectural grandeur. Flanking an arched glass door, turned columns frame the dial with classical refinement. The enamelled face features a 12" Roman numeral dial, accompanied by subsidiary seconds and date dials. Delicately painted floral motifs in each corner and the arch add a charming decorative flourish. The longcase trunk displays a graceful arched door with string inlay and is bordered by fluted columns, all enriched by the rich colouring and deep, time-earned patina of the mahogany. Though bearing the gentle signs of age one would expect from a piece of this vintage, it remains a striking testament to 19th-century horology. A true statement piece, offering both refined function and timeless decorative appeal for any interior.
