The case is finely painted with gilt landscapes, pagodas, and figures, each panel displaying delicate brushwork. The clock features an elegant arched brass dial with Roman numerals and a matted centre, framed by scrolling spandrels. Inside, the movement is clean and neatly engineered, with its original components intact. The proportions are wonderfully balanced, slimmer and more refined than a full longcase, yet with real presence.
