A Japanese parquetry kodansu (table top cabinet), late Meiji to early Taishō period, finely crafted with geometric yosegi marquetry and lacquered doors inlaid with delicate mother‑of‑pearl decoration. The twin doors open to reveal a fitted interior of six small drawers, each with original metal pulls, above a pair of exterior drawers and a long drawer to the base. The cabinet retains its decorative metal corner mounts and a red silk tassel to the door handle. A beautifully made personal chest of compact proportions, ideal for storing jewellery, stationery, or small treasures.
