Superb Edwardian carved oak armchair in excellent antique condition. The polished seat highlights the rich grain and warm tone of the timber, enhanced by a beautiful, time-worn patina that speaks to years of use and care. The backrest features an elegantly shaped and carved top rail above a decorative panel, flowing down to square-section rear legs. Gracefully shaped arms rest on turned uprights, leading to well-proportioned turned and block front legs. The chair’s base is structurally strengthened with square stretchers to the sides and back, and a turned stretcher at the front for added refinement. As with all antique furniture, subtle imperfections are present, yet they only enrich the chair’s character and authenticity. This handsome piece is a wonderful example of Edwardian craftsmanship.
